Olde Time Music Hall on Gold Coast

Writer and director Kate Peters’ evergreen celebration of 19th century popular entertainment, Piccadilly Olde Time Music Hall, returns to the Gold Coast Little Theatre for eight performances this month.
The show features eight solo performers – four male and four female - as well as an emcee and dance ensemble.
The two hour show marks Peters’ return to music hall shows such as those she presented in Canberra over nine years and the 17-venue tour she staged from Cairns to Tweed Heads.
“The Piccadilly Olde Time Music Hall is based on the tavern and pub shows, staged in London during the 19th century, which saw the gentry and ordinary folk eating, drinking and singing along together,” says Peters.
“The songs the people of that era loved still have a following today and including numbers such as Your Baby Has Gone the Plughole, the Pheasant Plucker, Champagne Charlie, A Little of What you Fancy Does You Good and Who Were You With Last Night?”
Cast members include double Mo Award winner Kirri Adams, Katrina Lardner, Martin Jennings, Grant Ebeling, Louise Harris, Doug Williams, Naomi Mole, Damien Moran and Arthur Shacklock.
Kate Peters is well known to Gold Coast theatre fans for a number of musical revues and last year’s production of Crown Matrimonial.
Piccadilly Olde Time Music Hall plays over two weekends from April 27-29 and May 4-6 at 7.30pm. There’s also four matinees on April 28 and 29 and May 5 and 6 at 2pm.
