At last Blaize Maguire is up and running. After 14 years my epic 400 page novel has been published. I genuinely believe it is the best thing I have ever written. I hope readers think the same thing. It’s been a long journey. Blaze turned up initially in a chapter of an unpublished novel about the coach company Cobb and Co. she was a young prostitute named Nellie Maguire who worked in a Ballarat music hall. I enjoyed the character so much I made her the lead character in a one-act colonial set play. The actor who played her received a Best Actor award. From then Nellie developed in my mind to the wonderful character she became. I had changed her name to Blaize and a fiery redhead she turned out to be.
All my previous fiction books have been published by companies like Longman Cheshire, University of Queensland Press and Andrews UK. I self-published my memoirs I Could Have Been a Contender and as I am nudging 90 I self-published this book. I did not want to wait and wade through heaps of rejection slips hoping that some company would pick it up. So now it is up for sale Online with a direct link to the publishers. Please treat an old author kindly and order a copy from the link below. Or try your favourite online books store.
Separated by fate. Driven by love. Bound for adventure.
In Blaize Maguire, Eric Scott delivers an epic historical adventure spanning continents, cultures, and decades of heartbreak and hope.
From the moment Brendan Rutherford steps down from a stagecoach and into her life, Blaize Maguire knows she has found the man she will love forever. But when a shocking crime shatters her world, Blaize is forced to flee England and begin a new life on the unforgiving goldfields of Ballarat, Australia.
Separated from Brendan and abandoned by her family, Blaize must rely on her courage and determination to survive in a dangerous, male-dominated world of clandestine hotels, gambling dens, and hidden ambitions. Yet despite every setback, she never abandons her dream of finding the man she loves.
Her extraordinary journey carries her from the Australian frontier to the heights of international entertainment and across the globe to the battlefields of early Confederate America.
Blaize Maguire by Eric Scott is a sweeping tale of resilience, passion, and enduring love against impossible odds. Will fate grant Blaize a second chance, or has she lost Brendan forever?
