WINDSONG

DRAMA:
Drama for teenagers, first produced at Brisbane Arts Theatre play festival in 1994. Rewritten for young adults, August, 1997, Performed at Brisbane Arts Theatre Festival. Won Best Actress for Courtney Taylor, and John Donovan Memorial Award for the actor with best potential for Josh Hewitt.

CAST:
Three females and one male.

RUNNING TIME: 40 minutes.

SYNOPSIS:
Kirsty's sister Karen died after falling from a cliff top while chasing a Frisbee. Kirsty, who threw the Frisbee blamed herself for Karen's death and, after suffering a nervous breakdown and attempting suicide she is visiting Karen's ghost at the point of her death. Josh is a student in town and his girlfriend Erika visits him. She is a psychic and while visiting the cliff top she makes contact with Karen. She becomes involved in the drama. Kirsty is told that her parents are taking her away from town and she threatens to kill herself, but eventually Kirsty talks her out of it.

Two very "ethnic" Indians arrive at school. The bully racists take umbrage at what they see as the Asianisation of their school. Melinda and Duffy give fair-minded opposition. Then rumours of flying saucers landing cause an uproar and people wonder exactly who the ethnic visitors are.

THE FANCY DRESS PHANTOM

SYNOPSIS:
It's the end of school year dance - in fancy dress. Lauren is the new girl, unsure of herself and lonely. Daniel is the school's champion athlete who is keen on classmate Wendy. During the evening valuables disappear and Daniel is the suspect who is caught in the act, or so it seems, by Lauren. Whose work is taken as the truth? Explores relationships, suspicions and one-parent families.

 

HI! MY NAME'S SERAFINA

WINDSONG 2

DRAMA:
A two-act extension of the one act play.

CAST:
Four females, three males.

RUNNING TIME: 110 minutes.

SYNOPSIS:
Windsong:
Kirsty's sister Karen died after falling from a cliff top while chasing a Frisbee. Kirsty is told that her parents are taking her away from town and she threatens to kill herself, but eventually Kirsty talks her out of it.  The Windsong 2 plot follows the same line as Windsong, but there is the further involvement with Kirsty's former boyfriend, Scott, and test tube twins Ben and Jenny Crosswell.
