The Women in Voice are back

From Thursday 3 to Saturday 12 November the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts will be abuzz when Women in Voice hit the performance space.

Renowned for showcasing Australia’s best female vocal talent, Brisbane’s Women in Voice (WiV) returns to the Judy this November with a line-up of singers.

Three newcomers will be welcomed to the WiV family – Sahara Beck, the singer/songwriter voted Most Popular Female at the 2015 Queensland Music Awards; Alicia Cush, who has delighted audiences in Brisbane and across Queensland as part of Little Black Dress Creatives; and Emcee Judy Hainsworth, the writer, composer and performer of the double act #FirstWorldWhiteGirls.

They will be joined on stage by Leah Cotterell and Alison St Ledger.

A Brisbane tradition which started more than 25 years ago to offer exposure to female artists, WiV has featured artists including Chrissie Amphlett, Deborah Conway, Margret RoadKnight, Jenny Morris, Katie Noonan; Christine Johnston, Jeannie Lewis, Carita Farrer, Kate Miller-Heidke; Lil' Fi, Deborah Cheetham; Kavisha Mazella, Emma Dean; Carol Burns, Annie Lee; Karen Crone, Queenie Vanderzandt and Barbara Fordham.
