Friendly service, excellent food

My wife and I were staying at the Novotel Phuket Resort just near Patong Beach and decided to have a wander up the nearest street, Prabaramee Road, to have a light lunch. We saw No 9 Restaurant, which we had heard was pretty good, but it was packed, so we moved on.

We checked on several places, which were either too limited in choice, or too expensive.

Then we were surprised to see another No 9, which was not full. This turned out to be No 9/ 2.

So in we walked to be met by several smiling faces and a warm welcome. We were seated and then a fan was quickly positioned to ensure the airflow washed coolly over us. Then we were offered a wide ranging menu that provided Thai and western food and also Japanese food. The idea of cool fresh sushi on such a steamy day seemed like a good one, so we ordered a plate of ten pieces between us.

While we waited for it to be prepared (very fresh) we ordered refreshing Tiger beers. The food came and was perfect. The portion too was just right for the light lunch we were looking for.

We enjoyed the experience so much we dropped in several times and each time before we ordered the food two Tiger beers were served. It was great to be remembered! Each meal was prepared fresh and was cooked to the exact spiciness we asked for.

The bill never came to more than 400 Baht (around fifteen Aussie dollars).

On our final day we lunched once more and when the staff found we were leaving they gathered round our table for a photo shoot.

I highly recommend the place for quality food, an extensive menu, reasonable prices, and a staff that could not be friendlier.
