Journey with Queensland Ballet on its first regional Supporters’ Tour

Queensland Ballet is opening up its Supporters Tour for a few lucky people, as its commitment to sharing ballet throughout the state continues.

Queensland Ballet’s vibrant program Tutus on Tour will shortly traverse regional Queensland visiting eight locations, alongside the largest Community Engagement regional tour the Company has ever undertaken, which will enrich the lives of more than 8,000 people through the beauty of ballet.

Guests will be hosted by Queensland Ballet in St George, Dirranbandi and Goondiwindi, enjoying a premium travel experience while observing a range of community engagements. These include professional development sessions for local teachers, in-school workshops and community classes, as well as witnessing some local young dancers taking their very first steps into the world of ballet in a QB Petit Pointers class, right there in their hometown.

“State-wide touring and community engagement has always been central to our vision, and we’re very excited to share these incredible programs with our supporters.

“This tour is the perfect way to see Queensland Ballet’s work beyond the stage while enjoying the beauty and local charms of our regional communities,” she said. Queensland Ballet supporters Ailbhe and Frank Cunningham have booked in and said they are looking forward to the trip.

“We think this is a wonderful project - we can’t imagine a better way to travel West than in the Company of Queensland Ballet,” Ailbhe said.

The tour leaves Brisbane on 6th August and returns on 11th August, and includes door-to-door travel, five nights of the best-available accommodation, breakfast daily and local dinners on four evenings. A range of local experiences will be enjoyed, including a historic tour and a long-lunch at Queensland’s most Westerly Winery, Riversands Wines. The tour concludes with Tutus on Tour in Goondiwindi, complete with pre-performance drinks and post-show supper.
