Shane Warne was often called “a rock-star cricketer” and with this his first national tour, Warney Uncut, The Whole Truth and Nothing but the Truth will make its way to Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne, kicking off at the Sydney Opera House on April 20th.
This is the show that separates fact from fiction, revealing the man behind the myths, the truth behind the tweets. Warney will be sharing his stories, as well as a few life lessons he’s learned along the way. And, put simply, no one has led a life like Warney.
Warney has been the subject of rumour, innuendo and lies. Paul Kelly called him “bowler of mystery”. After countless unauthorised biographies as well as a musical, the time has come to set the record straight. Warney Uncut is Warney by Warney.
He’s been a part of our lives since he made his Test debut for Australia 25 years ago. But how well do we really know Shane Keith Warne? This is a chance for fans to get up close and personal. Warney Uncut is intimate and interactive as Warney takes questions from the audience with no topic off-limits.
Shane Warne bowled the “Ball of the Century”, performed live with Coldplay, hosted a TV talk show, been a professional poker player, had several high-profile relationships, been immortalised in song by Paul Kelly and Kevin Bloody Wilson, and is a passionate St Kilda supporter and a key part of the Channel Nine cricket commentary team.
Shane Warne is Australia’s leading wicket-taker, with 708 Test wickets. He was the first cricketer in the world to take more than 700 wickets. In 2000, cricket bible Wisden named him one of five Cricketers of the Century, the only specialist bowler to make the list.
Warney is famous for spin. But as the title states, this will be The Whole Truth And Nothing But The Truth. Forthright and honest, with his unique sense of style and humour.
