Wes Carr back for tour of Rolling Thunder

Australian singer, songwriter, and actor Wes Carr (right) is returning for a national tour of Australian concert drama Rolling Thunder Vietnam – Songs That Defined A Generation that will start in Melbourne on 23 July then tour to Sydney, Wollongong, Gold Coast, Canberra and Newcastle finishing in Perth on 20 August.

This 2016 national tour coincides with the commemoration of 50th anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan.

Under the musical direction of Chong Lim (John Farnham Band, Dancing With the Stars), Rolling Thunder Vietnam earned standing ovations at every performance, winning plaudits from audiences and critics alike. ‘Australian Idol’ winner Wes Carr will be joined on stage by Wonderland performer Ben Mingay who is soon to star in Mel Gibson’s film Hacksaw Ridge and Tom Oliver will return as the Australian digger.

The production includes many of the greatest rock songs ever written and produced, including classics by Steppenwolf, Joe Cocker, Buffalo Springfield, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Santana, Gladys Knight, Billy Thorpe and Paul Simon to name a few.

The “songs that defined a generation” include Fortunate Son, All Along the Watchtower, The Letter, What’s Going On, Born to be Wild, Killing Me Softly With His Song, WAR, Magic Carpet Ride, Help Me Make it Through the Night and Bridge Over Troubled Water.
