Monster trucks on Australia tour

July 22, 2016

World champion drivers will face off against each other in 12 superstar trucks in  Monster Jam 2016 on Saturday October 1 for the first show of the national tour. Four trucks and drivers will make their debut performance in Australia at the Brisbane show.

Adam Anderson, youngest ever driver to win a Monster Jam World Finals Championship in 2008, and three-time Monster Jam World Finals Champion leads the charge to Australia in Grave Digger.

Eleven times World Champion Max-D will be put through his paces once again by Neil Elliot, while fellow Monster Jam driver and master of both two and four wheel motorsports, Damon Bradshaw will be behind the wheel of Monster Energy.

Scott Buetow returns in 2016, piloting Team Hot Wheels Firestorm, a design engineer with 32 years of motocross racing behind him. The fan favourite Zombie will once again be driven by Bari Musawwir, who came to Monster Jam from the world of radio controlled trucks. Also joining the line-up is the reigning Monster Jam World Finals Racing champion and former soccer player, Morgan Kane, piloting the Dragon.

Two of the top female drivers in Monster Jam are also headed to Australia – Candice Jolly returns in Monster Mutt Dalmatian and Becky McDonough will control El Toro Loco (yellow) in her first time to Australia.

Piloting  Alien Invasion is Chad Tingler, in his first time to Australia alongside Charlie Pauken, in Pirate’s Curse first year on tour.

The show will feature four unique Monster Jam driver competitions – Monster Jam Wheelies, Racing, Donuts and the Freestyle competitions, with the Freestyle Motocross and Quad Wars also set to return. Brisbane will also host a Pit Party ahead of the show, where fans can get up close with their favourite Monster Jam trucks, before meeting the superstar drivers.

Standing nearly four metres tall and four metres wide, Monster Jam trucks are custom-designed machines that weigh around 5,500 kgs. Built for short, high powered bursts of speed, the powerful Monster Jam beasts perform stunts and can accelerate from 0-100kph in under 3 seconds. They can cover up to 50 m in a single leap (a distance greater than 14 cars side by side) and up to 12 m skywards.

Saturday 1 October, 2016 at QSAC, Kessels Road, Nathan. Tickets for Brisbane www.Ticketmaster.com.au/MonsterJam or call 136 100.
