Jesus Christ Superstar set for Brisbane

Fresh off the sold-out season of their new production of The Pirates of Penzance, Brisbane producers Lynch & Paterson are back with the cult classic, Jesus Christ Superstar. The mega musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice celebrates its 50th anniversary since the original concept album “We are beyond excited to not only bring this phenomenal show to Brisbane, but celebrating and paying tribute to the original concept album! We have massive orchestra and band for this show and the music will blow your mind”, says producer and co-musical director Samantha Paterson. This global blockbuster tells the story of the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ, from the perspective of Judas Iscariot. As Christ’s followers grow more fervent, Judas must make his fateful choice between faith and betrayal. This is an imagining of the biblical tale filled with an exciting mix of musical styles that draw upon 1970s rock, gospel, folk, and funk.
