Brisbane Powerhouse supports Actors’ Benevolent Fund Qld as part of worldwide play reading

Imagine being 29 and forbidden to leave your country. How would you share your story with the world?

Iranian writer Nassim Soleimanpour has literally written himself to freedom in White Rabbit Red Rabbit, now one of the most widely performed plays in the world.

Since its first performance in 2011, this theatrical experiment is a potent reminder of the transformative power of the stage.

Soleimanpour’s personal story is told with no rehearsal, no director and a solo actor, in Brisbane, Andrea Moor, performing the script sight unseen. Neither the performer nor you will know what lies ahead.

White Rabbit Red Rabbit is being performed worldwide on Saturday 13 March 2021 to commemorate the day most theatres shut due to COVID restrictions. Brisbane Powerhouse is honoured to join the extraordinary global movement of Let There Be Theatre, a celebration of hope and inspiration during this time of uncertainty and isolation.

Produced by Aurora Nova

Supporting the Actors’ & Entertainers’ Benevolent Fund (Qld) Inc., a registered charity that has been assisting Queensland performers in need since 1975.

White Rabbit Red Rabbit, Saturday 13 March 2021, 8.00pm, Visy Theatre, Brisbane
