Brisbane Emporium Hotel's World Travel Award hat trick

The Emporium Hotel in Brisbane has been titled Australia’s Leading Boutique Hotel at the 24th World Travel Awards in Shanghai. It is the third year in a row the independently owned and operated hotel has won.

Emporium Hotel took out the award against the best in the country including The Old Clare Hotel in Melbourne, Cape Lodge at Margaret River, Gaia Retreat & Spa, Lyall Hotel & Spa, Ovolo Woolloomooloo, The Henry Jones Art Hotel, The Prince in Melbourne and the Woodbridge on the Derwent among others.

Achieving the hat trick at the World Travel Awards however, is one award every team member will welcome with extra pride, according to Emporium Hotel General Manager Peter Savoff, who was in Shanghai to accept the award.

“This achievement is the result of long-term commitment by everyone involved with the hotel – 10 incredible and consecutive years of ongoing work and commitment by the team to continually deliver on our very genuine promise and our vision to create a boutique luxury experience,” he said.

“The win is testament to owners Tony and Fran John who ten years ago this month opened the doors to what was a new and exciting tourism offer for the country – a boutique, independently owned and operated luxury hotel, one defined by a very directional design and service commitment, as well as a commitment to green environmental practice. This vision and courage has paid off and for not only the team, but for Brisbane as an exciting international city, and for the State of Queensland, and indeed, for Australia.”

In celebrating the 10 year anniversary, two experiences have been unveiled – the $10,000 Emporium Diamond Anniversary package and the $699 Emporium Anniversary package.

It’s a package that celebrates in absolute style; it’s a package that people will always remember, and one equal to any luxury experience across the globe,” he said.
