QPAC choir sings soul

The QPAC choir in full voice

If you enjoy artists like the Jackson 5, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, you can see their greatest works performed live by the Queensland Performing Art Centre (QPAC) Choir on May 17.

Following the 2015 QPAC Choir showcase concert 30 Years of Musicals, the 120-voice QPAC Choir, under choirmaster Timothy Sherlock, will join with guest artists including American Soul singer Lisa Hunt to perform A Soul Celebration.

Choirmaster Timothy Sherlock said QPAC Choir’s annual showcase concert is one of the highlights in the choir’s performance calendar.

“These concerts are an opportunity for members to collaborate with other local guest choirs and artists, increase their live performance experience, and showcase the results of many months of rehearsals.

“A Soul Celebration will take audiences back in time to enjoy classics by some of the most popular Soul and Motown artists that people of all ages will know. I am sure there will be lots of toes tapping and heads nodding along to favourites like We Are Family, Respect, Heard it Through the Grapevine, Staying Alive and the many more great songs featured in our concert program,” said Mr Sherlock.

Bookings: qpac.com.au or phone 136- 246.
