North Hill City Resort and Sireeampan Boutique Resort & Spa have opened a new Italian restaurant, The Zest. The new restaurant, a concept from Chef Dan Phangngoen, will be featured at and managed by both of the properties, serving up Italian.
“Chiang Mai is starting to put its stamp on the map as an up-and-coming foodie destination,” said Kanlapat Trakarnkoolpunt, managing director of North Hill City Resort and Sireeampan Boutique Resort & Spa. “We’re confident that The Zest’s flavorsome and creative menu items will provide an elevated culinary experience in Chiang Mai.”
Signature dishes include a Sea Crab Salad with Avocado featuring a secret recipe of salad dressing, Spaghetti with Seafood and Black Squid Ink, incorporating imported Australian mussels, Hokkaido scallops, prawns and squid with a touch of black squid ink sauce. For a main course, a signature option includes a colorful dish called Cod Fish Filet with imported USA black Gindara cod fillet in a saffron and leek sauce with giant Hokkaido Scallops and grilled vegetables. Additionally, the restaurant will boast a diverse wine selected carefully selected by an on-site wine specialist, including wines from Italy, France, The United States, and Chile.
The restaurant launched recently at Sireeampan Boutique Resort & Spa, an 11-room boutique property known for their attention to personalized luxury and bespoke culinary experiences. Sister property North Hill City Resort & Spa recently opened in early October, including the unveiling of the restaurant.
Both branches of the restaurant feature their own unique design to suit the architecture and aura of each hotel property. For instance at Sireeampan Boutique Resort & Spa, diners will enjoy indoor and outdoor seating amongst a design inspired by the Siamese heritage from the Ratanakosin era, featuring exclusive paintings from celebrated Thai artists. At the brand new North Hill City Resort, The Zest will offer a more modern yet intimate design, with indoor and outdoor terraces overlooking the North Hill Lake.
North Hill City Resort also houses a private home grown farm that is more than 6,000 sqm featuring a variety of vegetables including broccoli, cauliflower, Chinese kale, Chinese cabbage, zucchini, lemongrass, garlic chives, Japanese mint, super-hot chilies and more. In addition to these fresh ingredients being used at both locations of The Zest, guests will have the opportunity to take a farm-to-table cooking class, where they will pick these local Thai herbs and vegetables to be used for their meals.
