World Premiere: Reg Livermore back with a one-man show
Best remembered for his appearances in Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar and as the original Dr Frank’n’furter in the Australian Production of The Rocky Horror Show, actor, writer and director Reg Livermore returns to the stage at the Ensemble Theatre for his one-man show, The Widow Unplugged in July.
The Widow Unplugged, which is written and performed by Reg Livermore, promises to be an engaging, hilarious, and ultimately very moving solo play showcasing Reg’s comic talent.
Ensemble Theatre Artistic Director and director of this new play, Mark Kilmurry said Reg was one of the founding members of Ensemble Theatre and that he couldn’t be more thrilled to have him back to Ensemble 60 years later.
Livermore will play Arthur Kwick which, he says, doesn’t exactly ring any bells. Despite an unexpectedly notable performance at the Tivoli Theatre in 1969, Arthur Kwick’s career ever since has seen him take any role that has come his way even if that’s meant hosting off-the-wall stag nights or working as an all-weather clown at children’s parties. Now he has another job, a job that’ll test his mettle, question his core beliefs and could well be the most challenging of his life.
“I can't tell you what the job is because I want it to be a surprise for the audience but it brings new life to a career Arthur Kwick thought was well and truly over,” said Livermore.
